Uwe Berkemer

Uwe Berkemer, who was born in 1962, graduated with a degree in piano studies from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt, in the soloist class of Professor Joachim Volkmann.

Simultaneous training in vocal music as well as intensive studies in conducting and composing, enabled him at an early age to work as a pianist, singer, conductor and composer.

Concerts, CD productions, radio and TV recordings
regularly take him to the important culture metropolises of Germany, England, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, France, the USA, Canada, etc.

As a guest conductor of various orchestras he
frequently works together with such eminent musicians as Liana Issakadze, Wladimir Krainjew, Michala Petri, Anatol Ugorski and others.

For some time now his compositions have attracted international attention

Among his most important compositions are his violin concert, played for the first time in 2000 as well as his “Fantasia of String Orchestra” which he played for the first time in Tiflis in 2001 and his frequently played “Sonata for Violincello and Piano”.

Uwe Berkemer is the initiator and art supervisor of the International Music Festival Dietzenbach.

From 2000 to 2003 he was Principal Guest Conductor of the Georgian State Chamber Orchestra.

Since 2001 he is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the World Chamber Orchestra.

In 2005 he founded the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra.
